Lapopessa the Musical re-imagines the history of a 40-year relationship between a Bavarian nun (Pascalina Lehnert) and an Italian priest (Eugenio Pacelli). This power couple rose to great heights within the Catholic church and played significant roles on the world political stage during World War II. Their unconventional love relationship brought controversy and spurred conflict despite their commitment to public service and the considerable relief they provided to victims of hate and bigotry. The show's central themes focus on love, relationships, misogyny and role of women in the church, and optimism in the face of adversity.
